Learn the fundamentals of open-bath canning, so that you can capture the harvest at the peak of summer to enjoy during the winter. Home canned foods also make perfect gifts. But you need to take a few precautions to make sure what you are giving to people is safe. We will discuss how to properly prepare canned foods safely, how to properly use canning tools and methods (we will discuss pressure canning, but it will not be demonstrated) then the class will make a batch of strawberry jam and bread-and-butter pickles.
