It’s time for cupcake mania. Students will create cupcakes from scratch, learning how to mix and bake their own batter, use fillings, make different types of frostings, and use a pastry bag and other techniques to head them onto the path to cupcake stardom. They will also learn about flavorings, and participate in cupcake trivia and frosting technique challenges. In this course students will create: A chocolate creme filled cupcake with a chocolate glaze frosting; a lemon meringue cupcake with a baked frosting and tiny fondant butterflies; a character cupcake using buttercream frosting and candy eyes; and a blinged out swirl galaxy cupcake.
